'My Beautiful Girl, Mari' to be released in August in Japan

While domestic movies such as 'Marathon', 'Marrying the Mafia' and 'April Snow' await their release in Japan in a steady stream, 'My Beautiful Girl, Mari' directed by animation maker Lee Seong-gang is released in August in Japan.

His first bold attempt at a full-length feature has been rewarded with an invitation to compete in the Feature Film category at the 2002 Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France.

This animation to be released in Japan is handled with a cut-in, not dubbing and Korean actor Lee Byung-hun acted an adult voice of hero actor.

KOCCA Tokyo Office said that a preview of 'My Beautiful Girl, Mari' is ongoing in Sibuya, Tokyo from last month, adding that director Lee who is preparing the next animation 'Yeu Woo Bi cubby the fox', is scheduled to visit Japan for interview in the course of this month.

'My Beautiful Girl, Mari' is portraying a story in which Namoo is a twelve-year-Oldboy who has lost his father and lives with his mom and grandma in a secluded seaside village.

His only friends are Junho, who is the same age as he and Yeo, his cat. One day in the stationary store in front of his school, Namoo discovers a mysterious shining marble. He thinks about it all night, and the next day he runs to the store to buy it, but is disappointed to find that it is gone.

Then one day, Namoo and Yeo are playing near the old lighthouse when Yeo runs inside. Namoo follows the cat in and is wandering around when he discovers the mysterious marble on a shelf...
