'Oldboy': the most excellent foreign language film award in the 7th British Independent Film Awards.

The Reuter News reported on Nov. 30 that director Park Chan-wook's 'Oldboy' was awarded the most excellent foreign language film award in the 7th British Independent Film Awards.

Starting the movie's judge Grand Prix at the 57th Canne International Film Festival, 'Oldboy' sweeping over all sorts of awards at large & small film festivals at home and abroad, had received an Audience Award in the 15th Stockholm International Film Festival.

The Reuter News said that 'Oldboy' has won the most excellent foreign language film award, pressing 'Fahrenheit 9/11' and 'Motorcycle diary' etc.

'Oldboy's story is as follows: Oh Dae-su is kidnapped and held in a private housing cell for fifteen years. Upon his release, he is given one task by his captor: to find out the reasons why.

With a decade and a half of built up aggression and burning curiosity, Oh Dae-su searches for the answers that robbed him of his life.

On one hand, created in 1998, The British Independent Film Awards set out to celebrate merit and achievement in independently funded British filmmaking, to honour new talent, and to promote British films and filmmaking to a wider public.
