Film director Kang Je-gyu's 'Taegukgi, The Brotherhood of War' releases on an extensive scale across France.
According to MK Pictures, this cinema's production firm, 'Taegukgi, The Brotherhood of War', which is distributed by UIP, a worldwide distribution firm, releases on May 11 in France in a total of 110 screens, the largest scale since 'The Warrior Princess' among all successive Korean cinemas.
Starting from France, 'Taegukgi, The Brotherhood of War' is to be released in England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Scandinavia too.
At present , it is said that 'Taegukgi, The Brotherhood of War's poster and large-sized billboard are being papered across France. In addition to this, cardinal movie magazines and broadcasting station in France including an influential daily newspaper 'Le Monde' are expressing keen interest about the release of 'Taegukgi, The Brotherhood of War'.
Director Kang Je-gyu gave his impression of the movie's Europe release, saying that he wishes Korean cinemas, which started Hanryu (Korean Wave) in Asia region, would be amplified through 'Taegukgi, The Brotherhood of War' in Europe area also including France.
'Taegukgi, The Brotherhood of War's synopsis is unfolded with a story, in which Korea is full of hope or a better future after independence. Family of Jin-tae is none different. His mother and fiance Young-shin run a noodle shop in a market and he shines shoes to send younger brother Jin-seok to university.
Although the living isn't easy, they are working hard for their better future. Yet, the Korean war breaks out and Jin-tae and Jin-seok get drafted and are located at the battlefront immediately.
With bullets flying and bombs going off a few inches away, Jin-tae realizes that he has to keep his brother alive and send him back home safe even if he hurts himself. Believing so, he learns that earning a Medal of Honor may send Jin-seok home and now Jin-tae begins volunteering for dangerous missions.
