Actor/Singer Ryu Si-won to Tour Japan

TV star/singer Ryu Si-won will launch a tour of seven Japanese cities for one month.

After releasing his third album, "Asian Blow", in May, Ryoo will give concerts entitled "Ryu Si-won's Japanese Live Tour 2006" in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka, Sendai, Niikata, Hiroshima and Nagoya.

The concerts will take place at the International Forum in Tokyo on June 13-14, at Sanbares in Fukuoka on June 19, at the Osaka International Convention Center in Osaka on June 21-22, at the Sendai Sun Plaza in Sendai on June 30, at the Hiroshima Pension Building in Hiroshima on July 3, at the Aichi Art Theater in Nagoya on July 8-9 and at the Budoukan in Tokyo again on July 11-12.

Some 70,000 spectators are expected to visit the concert, the largest audience any Korean singer or actor has ever drawn in Japan. Ryoo gave concerts successfully at Tokyo's Budokan and Osaka's International Convention Center in last November.

Ryoo's agency, R's Company, says Ryoo will meet with 40 fans backstage after each concert in a surprising event.

The agency added that Japanese fans flocked to buy tickets to the concert, which were sold out via drawing shortly after they were put on sale in mid-May.

During Ryoo's tour, KBS TV2's series "Wedding", which also stars singer/actress Jang Nara, will air in Japan on TV Tokyo at 12:30 p.m. from June 15 through July 18. Ryoo's song "Come Back" and the duet song with Jang "I Will Protect You", which were not released in Korea yet, will be featured as the series' original soundtracks.

"Wedding", which is now being broadcast in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, was written by scriptwriter Oh Soo-yeon, who also wrote "Autumn in my Heart" and "Winter Sonata". It's a love story of young diplomat Seung-wook and Se-na from a rich family.

Ryoo's agency says the singer planned to launch his Japanese tour last year but decided to postpone it to appear in "Wedding". The company hopes the concurrent broadcast of the series will generate a synergistic effect along with Ryoo's concerts in Japan.

Ryoo plans to make a big-screen debut after completing the Japanese tour and taking some rest.
