Ahn Jae-wook Meets with 500 Asian Fans

Actor Ahn Jae-wook once again demonstrated his popularity as a "hallyu" star at a meeting with some 500 of his Asian fans. Ahn attended the fan meeting at noon on May at the Popcorn Hall in Namdaemun, Seoul. The purpose of the gathering was to welcome new members of his fan club "Forever".

The event, which was simultaneously translated into Japanese, began with Ahn greeting his fans, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. Ahn, who appeared on stage wearing a bead-decorated red shirt and white trousers, said he was happy to finally see his fans after having delayed this meeting for a month. As Ahn greeted his fans, they responded with a loud ovation, releasing red and white balloons into the air.

When the fans were presented with an opportunity to show off their performing skills, a group of Japanese fans played the traditional Japanese instrument "samisen" for their favorite actor. After watching the performance, Ahn said jokingly, evoking laughter from the audience, "I am not sure if the melody was played properly as I have never seen this instrument before, but I am very grateful to my fans, who have come from afar".

At the meeting, Ahn gave a mini-concert, where he performed ten songs including his hit songs "Freedom" and "Forever".

The meeting was attended by 340 Japanese fans, 120 local fans, and 20 fans from the Chinese-speaking region and Southeast Asia who joined the "Forever" fan club in February. Ahn and his fans wrapped up their time together hula-hooping and playing games.
