[Aisha's Take] "Strong Girl Nam-soon" Recreates the Iconic Scene From "Strong Woman Do Bong-soon"

Netflix has recently released the spin-off of the blockbuster 2017 Kdrama, "Strong Woman Do Bong-soon". The spin-off, so named, "Strong Girl Nam-soon" follows a young petite girl, Nam-soon, with an extraordinary amount of strength. Though it is quite different from the original, the recent scene in episode 5 has made us reminisce about the classic Kdrama, "Strong Woman Do Bong-soon".

"Strong Girl Nam-soon" tells the story of three generations of women with an immaculent amount of strength. The show primarily focuses on the youngest, Nam-soon (Lee Yoo-mi). At the age of five, her father took her to Mangolia, where she went missing. Years later, she returns to Korea with the aim of finding her biological parents. Upon arriving, she meets a handsome cop, Kang Hee-sik (Ong Seong-wu). Fascinated by her strength, the two partner up to investigate a mysterious drug crime case in Gangnam.
Hee-sik discovers that the company is selling drugs in the form of masks. And, in order to gain evidence, they had to disguise themselves and work there. The two are hired and so, at night, the two begin their mission. The two enter the storage, where Hee-sik truly gets to see the powers Nam-soon possesses. She could see in the dark and even jump high. She effortlessly spots the mask and brings them down. Leaving the poor boy in shock. He was truly questioning his sanity at that moment.
Whilst putting the box of masks back in place, she accidentally slipped and fell on Hee-sik, who tried to save her. In the next scene, their partner waited for the two to show up, only to see an astonishing sight. The seemingly petite girl, Nam-soon, was carrying Hee-sik!
This reminded us of the scene in "Strong Woman Do Bong-soon" where Ahn Min-hyeok (Park Hyung-sik) gets shot by a mysterious man. Even though the bullet was not real, Min-hyeok fell down. Like a knight in shining armor, Bong-soon (Park Bo-young) carries him in his arms and takes him to safety.
Of course, our strong girls will always be there to protect their men!
Park Bo-young and Park Hyung-sik also recently had a cameo scene in the show, which had the whole fandom in excitement. The fans got to see their favorite couple reunite as a happy married couple.
