Bed scene more realistic in 3D 'Natalie'

The local melodrama, "Natalie", is expected to be the talk of the town as its bed scene is three dimensional (3D) when it is released on Oct. 28 nationwide.

"A Little Monk" (2002) director Joo Kyeong-jeong has produced the film hand in hand with world renowned director Satoru Iseki, who manufactured "A Battle of Wits" (2006) and "The Emperor and the Assassin" (1999).

The film is certain to fascinate viewers with three-dimensional bed scenes which reveal delicate feelings as well as every erotic movement of actors realistically. This is because the directors have adopted fine high-tech to give the film 3D scenes as if they might be felt with hands.

They used two cameras unlike in conventional films to maximize 3D effect. They also checked every scene immediately after shooting to reduce errors as much as possible, with all the production crew and actors wearing 3D monitors and glasses.

Actors themselves also doubled their efforts to display their acting suitable to the 3D production. Throughout the shooting, they had to be desperate to find out appropriate angles and movements as well as more delicate expression of feelings, which audience can actually enjoy as 3D.

"3D film induces audiences to feel grief as if they were in the room when someone dies. It is quite different from the 2D film where viewers feel the sad atmosphere as if looking at the dead via a window", Joo said, quoting director James Cameron. "Viewers will be able to experience such feelings via "Natalie" in the film", Joo said.

Natalie, starring Lee Sung-jae, Kim Ji-hoon-I and Park Min-kyung, depicts triangular love involving a sculptor, a model and a critic. Lee Sung-jae, who is known for his gentle and neat image, teams with rookie actress Park Min-kyung who boldly challenges all nude performance for the first time in her acting career.
