BoA & Girls' Generation Performing At Summer Sonic 2011

"Asia's Star" will join Korea's new tourism ambassadors to perform for one of the biggest festivals in Japan.

The Summer Sonic 2011 festival -- big enough to be included in the ranks of the Fuji Rock Festival -- will take place on August 13th and 14th, each date with two showings each, taking place in Osaka and Tokyo.

Singer BoA, who has topped the Oricon charts in Japan on number occasions will be taking to the stage in Osaka. Considered the original Hallyu singer, BoA will be the first Korean solo singer to perform at the Super Sonic. Also included in that day's lineup will be pop/rock singer Avril Lavigne and Korean band W & Whale.

Following that on the 14th, Girls' Generation will perform in Tokyo. This too is historical in that they are the first girl group to perform at the Summer Sonic. Included in that day's lineup is the popular punk rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers and top Japanese rock band, X Japan.
