BoA's Japanese single places at No. 10 on Oricon chart

Korean pop songstress BoA's latest Japanese single has placed in the top 10 of the prestigious Oricon singles chart this week.

According to the data released by Oricon, BoA's 30th single "WOO WEEKEND" has positioned itself at No. 10 on the weekly chart after having made its debut at No. 5 on the daily chart on the day of its release on July 21.

Known as the first Korean artist to make a major breakthrough in the Japanese music industry, the 23-year-old singer has placed numerous singles atop the prestigious Oricon charts while having released seven studio albums in the country.

Meanwhile, BoA is currently preparing for her comeback to the music scene in Korea for the first time in five years with her sixth full-length album "Hurricane Venus".

Her last album in Korea was "Girls on Top", released in 2005, and she has been working in Japan and made her U.S. debut in March 2009.

She unveiled two tracks from the album on July 23 and released her music video for "GAME" two days later. The record will hit the stores on August 5.
