[BRIEFLY] Park to direct 'New York, je t'aime'

Director Park Chan-wook, internationally renowned for his "Vengeance" trilogy, will be one of the directors of "New York, je t'aime (I love you)", the second metropolitan city-based love story, following the film "Paris, je t'aime" released in 2006 by producer Emmanuel Benbihy.

Eleven other directors are signed to contribute to the $14 million movie project, including Zach Braff, Mira Nair, Fatih Akin, Yvan Attal, Wang Xiaoshuai and Albert and Allen Hughes. Three more directors are to be added to the project.

Each director will create a five minute segment about a love encounter in a district of the five boroughs in New York for a 100-minute final cut. Benbihy is planning a first-quarter delivery in 2008 with plans to submit the movie at next year's Cannes Film Festival.

Director Park won the Grand Prix at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival for "Oldboy".
