CJ Entertainment, the production company of the disaster-horror movie confirmed that "Deranged" will premiere in South Korean cinemas on 5 July. The new date is one week ahead of its original release date of 12 July, which was earlier confirmed by Ozone Film. The advanced release will also avoid the clash with Hollywood movies "The Amazing Spiderman" and "Cabin in the Woods" due to hit theaters on 12 July.

Korean media earlier reported that due to the postponement of the release of "GI Joe: Retaliation", other CJ Entertainment movies will be affected. The Hollywood movie was originally slated to premiere on 29 June, but was tentatively rescheduled to 29 March 2013 for a 3D upgrade. Another movie that was adjusted is J.Y. Park's debut picture "5 Million-dollar Man", will start showing in local theaters on 19 July instead of 28 June.

"Deranged" tells about a father's desperate struggle to save his family from the disease caused by virus-infected parasitic worms that is ravaging the country.

The 10 billion won movie stars versatile actor Kim Myung-min and Shinhwa member Kim Dong-wan. Also in the cast are Moon Jeong-hee and Lee Hanee. It is written and directed by Park Jeong-woo.
