Documentary About Go Champ Lee Se-dol to Premiere at Tribeca

A year has passed since the historic baduk or go match between Lee Se-dol and a proto-artificial intelligence program developed by Google. Now a documentary film about the historic match will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York from April 19 to 30.

"AlphaGo" is essentially an extended promo, made by Google DeepMind, the British AI company that was bought by Google in 2014 and built the program of the same name.

The Tribeca Film Festival said on its website that "Director Greg Kohs' absorbing documentary chronicles Google's DeepMind team as it takes on one of the world's top go players in a weeklong tournament, pitting man against machine in a competition that reveals as much about the workings of the human mind as it does the future of AI".

Google invited Lee to the festival, but he will be busy competing in China.
