Ha Ji-won lands role in John Woo's new film, 'Manhunt'

Ha Ji-won and the internationally prominent film director John Woo have met finally.

During 2016 Shanghai Film Festival, Ha Ji-won attended Asia Media Night on June 11th hosted by Media Asia Group, a production, distribution and management company of movies, dramas, and music greatly influential across China, and she announced that she chose director John Woo's new film, 'Manhunt' as her screen comeback.

Ha Ji-won said, "I feel like dreaming as I am going to work with director John Woo whom everybody has been admiring since my childhood. It is a great honor to be able to work with the master director, who is also pure and warm-hearted as a person".

Ha Ji-won's comeback film, 'Manhunt' is a remake of a Japanese movie, 'Kimi yo Fundo no Kawa o Watare' in 40 years, since the movie drew explosive attention to societal issues and became popular when the movie was released in China, 1978. Because of the social and cinematic background, the production of the blockbuster is garnering much attention in China.

Ha Ji-won is anticipated to present action acting at a different level for her role as a beautiful killer, Tus yu in the movie.
