"Korea Indie and Expat Film Festival Gears up for 1st Edition"

The inaugural Korea Indie and Expat Film Festival (KIXFF) gets underway this coming Thursday and will run until the 21st. The foreigner-led festival will feature nine feature-length films as well as 38 short films. Support!

"[INTERVIEW] Film Director, Lim Heung-soon"

At the end of last month Korea Cinema Today feature an interview they had with documentary filmmaker Lim Heung-soon ("Factory Complex" and "Jeju Prayer"): "I've been investing much thought on how art can contribute to society in a practical way. And this contemplation led me to public art, and since I started to work on video workshops with immigrant workers and rented apartment residents during early 2000, I've continued to make films".

"Speed"

Paul Quinn over at Hangul Celluloid reviews Lee Sang-woo-IV's hard-hitting drama "Speed". Paul describes it as "…the story of the difficulties faced in life during the move from youth to adulthood makes it perhaps his most universally accessible film so far". This one looks intense, so perhaps not for everyone.
