"New York Today: From North Korea to New York"

This may not come as a complete surprise, but you are not likely to run into many North Koreans in New York City. According to America's State Department, "Only 20 North Korean refugees have resettled in New York since 2001". In this article on the New York Times, Jonathan Wolfe talks to two of them: Yeonmi Park (24) and Seongmin Lee (30), both of whom have been living in Big Apple since 2015. "Have you ever seen the movie 'The Truman Show'?" Ms. Park responded when asked about what should Americans know about life in North Korea. "Culture-related exports log double-digit growth this year"

The Korea Herald reported this month that the country's cultural exports (and "leisure service-related goods") saw impressive growth from January to July this year. "According to the data compiled by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, exports of the country's key 11 culture-related goods reached $1.55 billion in the January-July period, up 23.5 percent from a year earlier".
