"South Korea's thirst for craft beer helps food and drink exports top £10bn"

Local beers have been criticized by foreigners in the past for being somewhat weak and watery; now, according to a recent report by the UK's Food & Drink Federation, South Koreans are apparently developing a strong taste for British craft beer. East Asian, in general, saw export revenues up by as much as 77%, but South Korea was the biggest buying of British beer: "South Korea has become an increasingly important destination for UK beer exporters as young people get a taste for specialist brews such as Brewdog, following trends in the US and Europe". "N. Korea defector-turned-entrepreneur seeks tofu rice globalization"

Kang Min, a defector from North Korea, used to steal tofu rice to survive as a child. Now, as a 31-year old living in Gangwon Province, South Korea, he owns his own restaurant as well as his own food brand. This rising entrepreneur is also very conscious about how healthy his offerings are; in an interview with The Korea Times, Kang said: "South Koreans are so accustomed to artificial tastes which lead to many diseases. I invented the fusion food to make something healthy". Kang has been living in South Korea since 2010, three years after he escaped from North Korea.
