"Buddha exhibition in Seoul revives ancient ties"

The Gandhara art exhibition, which will run for three months at the Seoul Culture Centre, features 40 statues of the Buddha from Pakistan's Peshawar Museum. It will be the first time the figures have ever been displayed in Korea. According to Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Pakistan's ambassador to South Korea, the event "will help promote a positive image of the country globally". "Korea has built motorway for Pakistan and we built cultural highway connecting both countries through Gandhara remains", said the museum's Dr Abdul Samad.
