[HanCinema's News] "12.12: The Day" Confirms Legal Response Against File Sharers

On February 12th, the distributor Plus M Entertainment and the production company Hive Media Corporation confirmed that they were working to identify online users who had been sharing links for the historical martial law film. In a statement, they warned online users to cease and desist from further sharing of the file, promising legal retribution for the illegal activity if such sharing continued.

"12.12: The Day" was released in November 22nd of last year in South Korean theaters and became a huge hit, with over thirteen million theatrical admissions to its credit, ranking sixth place on the all-time most watched films at South Korean theaters. The film dramatizes the suppression of a political rebellion nine hours on December 12th, 1979. "12.12: The Day" had been released on South Korean VOD services this past February 7th.
