[HanCinema's News] "Exhuma" Becomes Top Selling Korean Movie of All Time at Vietnamese Box Office

On March 15th, the occult horror thriller "Exhuma" was released in the Vietnamese market. According to box office data from the 15th to the 31st of that month, "Exhuma" is now the all-time leader for South Korean films at the Vietnamese box office, with 2.23 million registered admissions. The previous leader was the DMZ themed lottery ticket comedy "6/45" from 2022, which earned 2.15 million admissions during its run at the Vietnamese box office.

"Exhuma" also set the record for best opening day for a movie at the Vietnamese box office with 660,000 dollars in box office receipts. This number went up to 3.02 million dollars in its first week. "Exhuma" has also been successful in other southeast Asian markets, with 2.3 million admissions in Indonesia since its premiere there on February 28th. "Exhuma" has also passed "Train to Busan" to become the second most popular South Korean film in Australia since its release there on March 14th.

"Parasite" remains the all-time leader in Australia. "Train to Busan" and "Peninsula" are the first and second most popular all-time South Korean films in Thailand, with "Exhuma" coming in third there since its March 21st release. Elsewhere in Asia, "Exhuma" will be screening at the Beijing International Film Festival from April 18th to April 26th in the Midnight Thrill section.
