[HanCinema's News] Im Chul-hyung celebrates big year with multiple viral roles

Earlier this year, Im Chul-hyung appeared in the KBS series "Brain Works" as one of many brains in the comic brain science medical investigation drama. The role is more significant than the other three Im Chul-hyung had this year- but by happenstance, Im Chul-hyung has achieved more recognition for the smaller roles. One in the TV series "My Demons" while the other two are in two of the year's bigger box office hits.

In "My Demon" Im Chul-hyung plays the role of Detective Park. Im Chul-hyung's role was minor enough to not be included on itial cast lists, although there was another reason for his obscurity. Detective Park made his first appearance in the drama's eighth episode for the purpose of investigating the murder of Kim Hae-sook's character. His very existence is a spoiler- but Im Chul-hyung has made up for lost time with remarkably humanistic charisma in comforting Kim You-jung's leading lady.

Im Chul-hyung also charmed audiences back in October with "Love Reset" where he plays the father of Jung So-min's character, a man who schemes to sabotage her romance with Kang Ha-neul's character due to their clear incompatibilities. In a less humorous vein, Im Chul-hyung also appeared in "12.12: The Day" as the president's chief bodyguard. Though the character was unnamed in the film itself, Im Chul-hyung's stage presence still left an excellent impression on viewers.

Im Chul-hyung doesn't yet have any confirmed screen projects for 2024, but these appearances have undoubtedly improved his profile and it's likely only a matter of time before he returns. Im Chul-hyung also does stage acting, playing Hugh Fennyman in this year's stage production of Shakespeare in Love. Whether on screen or stage, Im Chul-hyung is sure to be highly anticipated by fans in his next project.
