[HanCinema's News] Kim Ok-vin Talks About "Love to Hate You"

On February 8th, Netflix Korea held a press conference for "Love to Hate You" at the CGV movie theater n Yongsan. The project is the latest leading role actress Kim Ok-vin, who was on hand to discuss her experiences. The actress discussed the difficulty of doing more appropriately romantic faces during action scenes, noting that her face naturally takes on an action expression despite that not being the intent of the scene.

Best known for darker more action-oriented works, Kim Ok-vin does not do romantic roles as often. In discussing this disparity, director Kim Jeong-kwon stated that he wanted her for this role because Kim Ok-vin leaves a strong impact- and this would show in a strong on-screen transformation. Kim Ok-vin echoed this sentiment, stating she wanted to try a different project than what she had tried in the past, and implying this might be the brightest spot in her filmography.

Kim Ok-vin noted that even when considering the role, her character seemed rather unlike her. Kim Ok-vin also admitted to thinking the part wasn't well-suited even when starting, but still stuck with it because she didn't want to be seen as unemployable. Now, Kim Ok-vin feels as thought she has been able to show off a part of herself that she has not been able to in the past.

Kim Ok-vin went on to say that despite how unusual the role may feel coming from her, there are many new feelings she has been able to communicate through the work. But admitting some shyness, Kim Ok-vin asked for honest evaluations to come only via phone call. "Love to Hate You" will begin airing worldwide this coming February 10th.
