In "Gaus Electronics" Kwak Dong-yeon plays the young manager of the third marketing division, a role he played with comical cheer and smiles despite his character's responsibilities within the company. The role was surprisingly similar tonally to the supporting role Kwak Dong-yeon played in the film "6/45" back in August. The positivity was particularly noteworthy in scenes that Kwak Dong-yeon shared with Ko Sung-hee, who has top billing after him.

Kwak Dong-yeon says this energy flows from his desire to do comedy well. He develops his humorous technique without regrets, and this also works as a parallel for his own character's personal journey of just trying to do better. Despite this passion, Kwak Dong-yeon also expressed an interest in showing viewers a more diverse set of performances aside from just comedy in the future.

Much of Kwak Dong-yeon's attitude was also determined by the role itself. "Gaus Electronics" is based on the webtoon of the same title, and reading it, Kwak Dong-yeon was concerned that he looked too pointed to play the role he was cast for. Consequently, he gained five kilograms to better improve his look. The role likewise called for a pure attitude of no ill will that his co-workers genuinely found bewildering, so Kwak Dong-yeon worked hard to make himself seem cute and lovely.

While Kwak Dong-yeon is the credited lead, "Gaus Electronics" was an ensemble production of ten people, and Kwak Dong-yeon was grateful to have worked with nine other people who he described as wonderful actors. Kwak Dong-yeon explicitly called out Bek Hyunjin and Heo Jung-do as great seniors who taught him how to behave like an adult on set. Kwak Dong-yeon's next confirmed project is "Bloodhounds" on Netflix later this year.
