The 210-minute events, dubbed SM Town Live in Tokyo, featured Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, f(x), TRAX JungMo and J-Min.

Despite the shows being held in the middle of the week, more than 400,000 people sought tickets and 24,000 fans packed the stadium. Thousands who were not lucky enough to get tickets braved the cold weather and gathered around the venue to listen to the faint music outside.

At the show, which followed similar concerts in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Shanghai, TVXQ performed their official comeback in Japan after more than a year. The duo sang a number of songs from their new album "Keep Your Head Down", which topped Oricon's Daily Single Chart just a day after its release on Wednesday with sales of 130,000 copies.

Thanks to the overwhelming popularity, SM Entertainment decided to schedule two encore concerts for Apr. 9 and 10 in the Tokyo Dome. Further information on booking tickets will be released soon.
