Korean Films Honored at 41st Dajong Film Festival

Director Kim Ki-duk's film "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring" won him the best picture award at the 41st Daejong Film Festival, held at the Sejong Center for Performing Arts on Friday. Winner of the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival, "Oldboy" director Park Chan-wook received five awards, including best director, best actor (Choi Min-sik), best music, best film editing, and best film lighting.
Ushering in more than 10 million viewers this year, "Silmido" and "Taegukki" won four and three awards respectively. "Silmido" took home awards for best film coordination, best cinematography, best supporting actor (Huh Joon-ho), and the special jury's award. "Taegukgi" received the best sound editing, best art direction, and best filming awards. "Beomjweui Jaeguseong" took best new director's award and best screenplay.

Best actress and supporting actress awards went to Moon So-ri from "Baramnan gajok" ("A Good Lawyer's Wife") and Kim Ka-yeon from "Mr. Hong", respectively. The best new actor and actress awards went to Kim Rae-won and Moon Geun-young from "My Little Bride".
