Nominees For 2015 Mama Announced, Online Voting Begins

Asia's leading content and media company CJ E&M has announced a full list of nominees across 18 categories for the upcoming MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards), set to take place at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong on December 2nd. The announcement was broadcast live on Mnet and through Naver's mobile application V at 6 p.m. (KST) on October 30th.

The nominees have been carefully selected from a pool of artists, who have had songs and albums released during the period from October 26th 2014 to October 29th 2015.

Award categories include three grand prizes – UnionPay Album of the Year, UnionPay Song of the Year, UnionPay Artist of the Year – as well as Best Male/Female Artist, Best Male/Female Group, Best New Male/Female Artist, Best Performances in different genres (dance, vocal, rap, band). As always, highly acclaimed artists from six Asian countries will be honored at 2015 MAMA for the Best Asian Artist category. For branded awards, UnionPay, Oupu and HotelsCombined have been confirmed to present.

Nominees for Best Male Artist are JONGHYUN, Jung Yong-hwa, J.Y. Park, KYUHYUN, Zion.T, while Best Female Artist include Ailee, BoA, HyunA, Lee Ji-eun and Taeyeon. Nominees for Best Male Group are BIGBANG, BTS, EXO, SHINee, Shinhwa, Super Junior, and Best Female Group are AOA, Apink, Girls' Generation, Miss A, Sister and Wonder Girls.

Also nominated for Best New Male Artist this year are iKON, Monsta X, N.Flying, SEVENTEEN and UP10TION. CLC, GFRIEND, Lovelyz, OH MY GIRL and TWICE listed their names for Best New Female Artist nominees.

Other nominees for Best Performances in different genres have been unveiled. For Best Vocal Performance, Huh Gak, KYUHYUN, Im Chang-jung, SG Wannabe, Zion.T are nominated for male category, while Ailee, Baek A-yeon, Davichi, MAMAMOO, Taeyeon are nominated for female category. For Best Dance Performance, BIGBANG, EXO, GOT7, Infinite, SHINee, VIXX will battle out for male category, and AOA, EXID, Girl's Day, Red Velvet, Sistar, 4MINUTE for female category. Nominated for Best Dance Performance Solo are Amber, Son Ga-in, HyunA, J.Y. Park and Niel.

In addition, CNBLUE, FT Island, Hyukoh, JJY Band, Nell are listed as nominees for Best Band Performance, while Dok2, Gary, Jay Park, Mad Clown, San E for Best Rap Performance, and Block B&BASTARZ, Infinite H, Soyou & Kwon Jeong-yeol, VIXX LR, Zion.T & CRUSH for Best Collaboration & Unit.

Last but not least, BIGBANG, f(X), Infinite, SHINee, and Wonder Girls are nominated for Best Music Video.

Online voting will run from 19:00 (KST) on October 30th until midnight on December 1st at the official 2015 MAMA website [http://2015mama.com]. Information on the website will be available in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. To ensure fairness, each voter is allowed to vote only once a day. For those in mainland China, mobile application Oupu will provide the same voting service.
