After successfully having seven organs transplanted, a seven-year-old girl with a rare congenital digestive disorder saw one of her wishes come true recently when she got to meet actor Lee Seung-gi.

Cho Eun-seo was born with a rare disease that left her unable to digest food, meaning she would often throw up after eating just a spoonful of rice. She underwent complicated surgery last October in Seoul and became the first person in Korea to have many organs transplanted at the same time.

Lee found out that she had expressed her desire to meet him, during an interview with the Chosun Ilbo in mid-February, and made a surprise visit to see her at Asan Medical Center in the capital.

Lee's visit became known when former Grand National Party Chairman Chung Mong-joon tweeted a message showing a photo of the girl at the hospital on Tuesday. He said that Lee and Cho enjoyed each other's company and had a good time talking to one another.

"This will be an unforgettable memory [for her] as Lee gave her a hug and some gifts", he wrote. The message was re-tweeted and the news soon spread across the nation.

Lee said he was trying to avoid publicizing his visit as he just wanted to cheer the girl up, and that he hopes to see her make a speedy recovery, his agency said.
