[Orion's Drama News] New Year, New Dramas

Another year gone, another batch of fresh dramas approach. I hope 2017 has made a promising start for you, readers and let us all hope it will be good on the drama front as well. This week I talk about "The Perfect Wife" and the upcoming shows of jTBC before sharing my usual news summary.

Desperate Housewife

Korean dramas, despite being largely written for and by women have often not been kind to us. This has been changing rapidly, however and it is lovely to see the medium fit its audience better. "The Perfect Wife" is a drama which could swing either way. It might end up a misogynistic cautionary tale about women wanting more out of life or be an empowering story of liberation. The cast looks good, the premise interesting and I hope it does well.

JTBC Dramas

I speak about jTBC as a channel often and I recently mentioned its upcoming dramas. A piece has come out speaking about some of them and mentioning some of what the author feels are their strongest points, or rather those that make them marketable. I think the channel balances between quality and catchy elements, be it stories or actors well. Tourist lollygagging drama "The Package" has a new teaser out this week, so let us see how jTBC handles 2017.

Upcoming Drama Goodies

"Defendant" has its first teaser and Only of Noonas Over Forks brings us a new one for "Tomorrow With You". "Strong Family" has its own first teaser and so does "Ruler: Master of the Mask". We have Chanyeol stills from "Missing 9", some from "Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People" and more quirky ones from "Chief Kim". "Introvert Boss" has a new video, "Three Color Fantasy - The Stars In Space" has a main poster and "Voice" has new posters as well. In casting news, Han Ji-woo will be in "My Sassy Girl - Drama".

Followed Dramas

My body is currently undecided between sick and not sick, so being able to lie down and be a potato watching "Solomon's Perjury" was even more pleasant than usual today. I have been keeping all sorts of busy, however, so here is my preview for "Voice", which will be covered for episode reviews by my lovely site-mate, Raine/Lisa.
