Jeong-hae (Kim Yunjin) is sentenced to serve 10 years in Cheongju Women's Prison after killing her abusive husband. In the prison, she gives birth to a baby boy but she must give him up for adoption after 18 months.

To spend a day outside of prison with her baby son before he goes to a foster home, Jeong-hae proposes to the prison warden that they create a choir for a Christmas concert. With help from one of her roommates, Moon Ok (Na Moon-hee), who was a musical professor at a university, Jeong-hae gathers people around her. Not everyone could sing first, however, as they open their hearts and practice hard, they eventually become a real choir who can sing a harmony of love and hope.

Although the sad Korean drama movie is a tearjerker, it is not just a depressing story making people cry without any other merits. First, there were some unexpected scenes. In the movie, the prisoners have surprisingly ordinary life in the prison. People may expect to see a very depressing daily life in the prison, but the movie shows more. Prisoners watch TV eating watermelon, one character goes on a diet, people even hold a first birthday party for Jeong-Hae's son.

Second, this sad Korean drama also had some funny scenes. In particular, the baby's great acting made people laugh a lot.

The interesting part of the movie was that the members of the choir were people who were hurt by their families. However, as the story progresses, they come to heal their wounds by fitting back into their families and the sad Korean drama concludes with a happy ending.

"Harmony" is a great movie to watch. Also, it is nice to see the actress Kim Yunjin, famous for her role in "Lost", acting in a Korean movie.
