A pre-recording of an interview with the actor was released on the JTBC "Newsroom" on the 23rd. The anchor asked Son Sukku what his intentions and interpretations were regarding the statement he made on theater acts being 'fake'.

Son Sukku said, "When I started acting 10 years ago, I worked hard to be a good actor but I felt pressured into a standardized pattern. It was my pettiness and stubbornness that got me to feel that way. That made me think and has become the source for me to develop my own color. One of the important factors in choosing a work is the excitement of what kind of picture I will get when I start it".

He continued, "Co-actors and I would just jokingly say to one another, 'Why do you put on a fake act?' but now I realize that could easily have brought on any misunderstandings. I've written a letter to Nam Myung-ryul to apologize and he's replied that he's coming to see my play. I am very curious to find out what he will say about it. There could be good and bad things but whatever he says is going to become my nutritive element. I believe he will water me for further development".

Earlier, at a press conference for the play "Army on the Tree" held on the 27th of last month, Son Sukku said, "If I changed my acting style for the play, I would be betraying one of the purposes of acting". He said, "The reason why I moved to movies and dramas although theater was what I wanted to do, was that I didn't understand being made to fake act". In response, actor Nam Myung-ryul shared an article containing the remarks on his social networking service (SNS) and said, "Hahaha, I just laugh. That arrogance".

"He should be thinking about acting for 350 people in the audience to hear even in a whisper. If you didn't think about that on stage, then you should take back the words that all you wanted to do was theater. There are several actors who can reach up to about 350 seats even with a whisper even if they say that they fit better with media acting". He pointed out, "All acting is supposed to be playing a fictional character, but it is absurd to define what real acting is".
