On the ninth episode of SBS drama "Deep-rooted Tree" on November 2nd, a Jiphyeonjeon scholar was threatened by a warrior. The sword he used was the same that was used in a slaughter house.

Jo Mal-seng (Lee Jae-yong) discovered him and followed the only butcher in the capital, Garion (Yoon Je-moon). Knowing this, Kang Chae-yoon (Jang Hyuk) also followed Garion. Garion realized he was being followed by warriors and tried to intimidate them with a sword.

He cried, "I didn't do it!" as he ran away. However, he was caught by Chae-yoon who was hiding in the forest. Kang Chae-yoon suspected him of being a Japanese spy. He also thought it was Garion who went through his room. However, he was innocent. It was Moo-hyool (Cho Jin-woong) who went through his room. Garion said he visited the scholar's house to deliver a cow. He then said he lost his sword then and cried.

He said, "I am not a gentleman nor a normal person but a low class person. A life is not the same all over. If I go into the Euigeumbu I will not survive. My life is like that of a fly's. Looking at him crying as he said so, Chae-yoon recalled his days as a lower class person. The viewers couldn't help but feel sorry for Garion.
