[Spottoon Review] Kang Full's Timing: The Name that Started it All

Mystery, fear and death surround you as you delve into Kang Full's webtoon, Timing, now available on Spottoon. Kang Full is one of the founding fathers of webtoons who proved that the format could convey great stories. The strength of his storytelling has been recognized by many, which is why so many of his works have been turned into films. Popular films such as "Hello Schoolgirl" (2008), "Late Blossom" (2011), "Pained" (2011), "26 Years" (2012), and "Neighbors" (2012) are all based on his webtoons. And "Timing", itself, was turned into a feature animated film that was released in 2015. It is one of Kang Full's best known works and perfectly captures the kind of storyteller he is.

Neighbors (2012) Lotte Entertainment

Timing focuses on a group of strangers, each with an ability involving time, who come together to prevent a horrible accident from occurring. A high school teacher named Jagi Park, who has the gift of foresight, dreams of a mass suicide that is set to occur at her school in 10 days and she becomes determined to do something to stop it.

Jagi begins to seek out the people who were with her in her dream: Young-Tak Kim, a high school student with the ability to stop time, Min-Hyuk Kang, a man who can rewind time, and Sae-Yoon Chang, a young woman who can see 10 minutes into the future. They are drawn together by the mystery surrounding Jagi's vision and as they work together to prevent the disaster, they realize that no one is safe and that they are fighting an evil entity that always seems to be one step ahead of them all.

The story in this webtoon is exceptionally strong and affects the reader in a very visceral way. As you read, the emotions that hit you are pronounced, loss and sadness are felt, and as the plot thickens, fear and dread set in, as you realize how dangerous and unpredictable this story world is for your characters.
