The Creators Project

The Creators Project is going to be in Seoul this weekend from September 21-23!

Founded by Intel and Vice Magazine, The Creators Project started out as a website combining technology with creativity and art. It travels around the world to hold short cultural festivals that "bring together innovators working at the forefront of creativity and technology".

In Seoul, the Creators Project will transform the Dongdaemun Design Plaza into an interactive and visual cultural hub, hosting art installations, film screenings and live music and performances from top Korean artists, such as Drunken Tiger and 2NE1, as well as bands like Idiotape.

The Creators Project has supported more than 150 artists around the world and is entering its third year. The traveling event series kicked off from San Francisco and goes through Paris, Sao Paulo, Beijing, Seoul and New York.

If you do happen to be in Seoul this weekend, the Wall Street Journal recommends that visitors check out "The Treachery of Sanctuary", an interactive triptych inspired by cave paintings by music video director Chris Milk. The article also suggests looking out for "The Day of Perpetual Night" by new-media artist Yang Yong Liang, and "Levitate", by Everyware, a Korean creative computing group.

I've submitted my RSVP two days ago, so hopefully I'll have the chance to experience it myself and give a recap. If I do get to go, I'll definitely be posting photos to the event's Instagram feed under the #Creators tag to participate in the event's interactive environment!
