"3-Iron" Shown in 31 U.S. Theaters

The movie "3-Iron" by director Kim Ki-duk has been shown in 31 U.S. theaters since its debut in that country a month ago.

"3-Iron" which opened in the U.S. on April 29 in seven theaters, took in US$32,146 in ticket sales in 31 theaters on the weekend of May 20-22. As of May 22, the movie had grossed a total of $125,694, ranking it 44th on the box-office list.

On the same weekend, another Korean movie, "Oldboy", took in $17,114 nine weeks after its opening, ranking it 58th. It has been shown in 18 theaters, grossing a total of $595,729 as of May 22.

The top spot of the box-office ranking went to "Star Wars: Episode Ⅲ", which opened in 3,661 theaters and took in $108,430,000.
