"A Bittersweet Life" to be penetrated into the international market

Director Kim Jee-woon of "A Bittersweet Life" who set on the red carpet in Cannes Film Festival is continuing to be invited by well-known foreign film festivals.

Last month, Kim participated in Hawaii International Film Festival thanks to the submission of "A Bittersweet Life" in competition section and also he is planning on visiting several film festivals additionally in this year.

He was also invited as a jury member to the 5th Marrakech Int'l Film Festival to be held until 19th in Morocco. It attracts people's attention as the president of jury is director Jean-Jacques Annaud, who produced "Quest for Fire", "The Name of The Rose", "The Bear" and others.

Furthermore, Kim's special retrospective exhibition will be held at the 46th Thessaloniki Int'l Film Festival, which is a historied film festival. HIs all works will be presented: "The Quiet Family", "Coming Out", "The Foul King", "A Tale of Two Sisters" and "A Bittersweet Life".

It is meaningful for the relatively young director to have a special retrospective exhibition which is normally held for the great master director, for example, like Lim Gwon-taek among Korean movies. The festival will be taken place from 18 to 27 November.

In addition, "A Bittersweet Life" was invited to Stockholm Film Festival in Sweden and was selected as the opening film in Asian Images section. Kim's movie is pouring in invitations from leading foreign film festivals.
