A Series of Seminars on 'Digital Content in the Fusion of Broadcasting and Communication''

A series of four weekly seminars beginning on July 25

Four seminars on the topic of 'Digital Content in the Fusion of Broadcasting and Communication' are to be held weekly beginning on July 25.

Co-hosted by the Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA, CEO: Suh, Byung-Moon), the Korean Broadcasting Institute (KBI, President: Yu, Gyun), and the Copyright Commission for Deliberation and Conciliation (Chairman: Noh, Tae-Seop), the said seminars will serve as a venue for discussion of issues involving technological and other types of infrastructure related to media fusion, promotional systems and policies, and various topics concerning Korea's broadcasting and communication industry.

Furthermore, media practitioners and experts are going to discuss raging issues on the current domestic situation in the era of the fusion of broadcasting and communication, as well distribution, protection, and foreign market advancement strategies of digital content.

The first seminar, with the theme, 'Current Situations and Future Strategies of Digital Content in the Era of Fusion of Broadcasting and Communication' is to be held on July 25 under the chairmanship of Dr. Kim, Sang-Hyun, professor at Yonsei University. Followed by keynotes on the 'Changes in Media Paradigm and Digital Content' to be delivered by Professor Park, So-Ra of Hanyang University and 'Current Situations and Outlook of the Digital Content Industry' by Seong, Yeol-Hong, executive director of CJ Systems.

Subsequent seminars will include the themes 'Fusion of Media and Digital Content Promotional Policy' on Aug. 10, 'Fusion of Broadcasting and Communication and Efficient Distribution and Protection of Digital Content' on Aug. 24, and 'Establishment of Digital Content Infrastructure and Strategies for the Advancement into Foreign Markets' on Sept. 7.
