Actor Seol Kyeong-gu to be highly praised by Japanese media

Japanese media highly praised the actor Seol Gyeong-gu, who starred in "Rikidozan: A Hero Extraordinary" (Director Song Hae-seong, Producer Sidus) to be scheduled to screen on 4 March of next year in Japan.

Japanese Sankei Sports put the interview with Seol on 11 Dec on a large scale and added the comments like "Korean chameleonic actor" and "The best professional actor".

"Seol is neither sweet-faced nor sexy like other Hallyu stars loved these days in Japan, however, the audience could be impressed at his acting in smiling with a sad emotion or expressing the anger", added the newspaper with the praise.

The movie is the story about a Korean pro-wrestler shaking Japan, which was scheduled to screen in the first half of this year in Japan, but it delayed and got a great reaction in The Tokyo International Film Festival as a closing piece.

"Rikidozan" produced jointly between Korea and Japan attracts lots of attention as it is about the existent character who was popular in 1960's and 1070's in Japan and 95% of words are in Japanese.

Seol's movie "Peppermint Candy" was already presented and in 2001 he appeared in NHK's drama "Shodoku Crown Prince". He will enter the Japanese market in earnest with the start of "Rikidozan".

The film made a success in Korea, although he had a great affection for his work. It is expected that actor Seol will be a brand-new Hallyu star since he plans on promoting the movie actively prior to the screening in Japan.
