"Fight For My Way", which ended early this month, won praise for its convincing depiction of the problems faced by young people today, and of the way long-term relationships become bogged down in routine.

"I guess everyone experiences difficulties in life in some form", Song said in an interview with the Chosun Ilbo on Tuesday.

"I felt a deep connection to the character I played, as she was very like me in some respects. I was happy to play the role because it gave me the chance to give some comfort to viewers who share similar feelings of restlessness", Song added.

Song wore just four outfits during the series to illustrate the way people in long-term relationships sometimes "let themselves go" after becoming overfamiliar to each other.

"When couples are in a relationship for a long time, they tend to stop caring about their looks", she said.

"I try to forget about the character I play once I finish a project, but I want to keep this one with me a little longer", Song said.

She plans to take her time choosing her next project. "I intend to wait for a role that I feel a similar attachment to, instead of accepting any offer that comes along".
