Apple to Open 1st Korean Store Next Week

A message on the wall of the Apple Store construction site in Seoul last week says "nice to meet you" in Korean.

Apple announced Wednesday that it will open its very first fully-owned Korean store in Sinsa-dong in Seoul's Gangnam next week.

The Apple Store, which is scheduled to open on Jan. 27, will occupy two floors above ground and two underground. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Monday to Sunday.

It will also have a tech support station where trained technicians will help customer with their products.

Apple is negotiating with three major mobile service providers -- SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus -- to be able to activate Apple devices on the spot for purchases made at the store.

The store will offer various 30 to 90 minute classes on how to use Apple products, such as video editing, music creation and coding. The classes require booking online at https://www.apple.com/kr/retail/garosugil.
