[Reporter : Michelle Kim] Hello Conn-young

What do you have for us today ?

[Reporter : ] For those of you who are interested in sculptures and are curious on the evolution and change of Korean sculptures, you're probably going to enjoy this exhibition. You can see the more traditional types of carvings as well as more modernized pieces. Take a look.

Sculptures from dead artists all the way up to up-and-coming young artists are on show at this exhibition which illustrates the flow of Korean Sculptures.

The combination of delicate curves and the sharp line in this free form sculpture from the 1960s was made with a drum from the U.S. army base.

Another sculpture shows a small mountain made from carved sand boulders. The gazebo in the forest brings out a peaceful feeling to viewers

The female sculpture made from marble portrays warmth, and the bronze male statue portrays austerity and seriousness.

This is the first exhibition that shows five decades of Korean sculptures. From past sculptures to recent ones, each of the 60 artworks portray a different sense of emotion.

The newer artworks step out of the box breaking down stereotypes, and show new, creative and innovative artworks like other modern pieces of art such as media art.

The sculptures are placed on floors and hung from walls, which make the whole exhibition hall another form of artwork.

Won In-jong, Professor of Plastic Arts, EHWA Women's University.
[Interview : Won In-jong, Professor of Plastic Arts Ehwa Women's University] "Sculptures show the consciousness and artistic techniques of that time period. At this exhibition, you can see sculptures made from a mix of traditional materials such as stone, bronze, and steel and a new medium".

Although the shape and form may have changed over the years, the mindset of artists-to challenge themselves to make creative art-are still the same.

[Reporter : ] The exhibition Sculptura Lux Mea will be held at the Kim Chong Yung Museum until the 26th of this month. The exhibition will be held both inside and outside of the museum.

I think this will be a great way to spend the beautiful weather during the weekend and see how the designs and techniques of sculptures changed over the 50 years. I'm sure it's a huge change isn't it[Reporter : ] It definitely is...from the materials to the structure and the DESIGN...the colors used in earlier sculpture seem to be much more simple, whereas the artworks made recently uses vivid colors.

This will be a great opportunity for people to look at beautiful sculptures and also enjoy the beautiful weekend weather with families and friends. And moving on, what do you have for us

[Reporter : ] I have two Korean movies that will be hitting theaters later this month and early May. Take a look.

From the controversial love between a 70-year-old poet and a high school student, to the true story of the 1991 World Table Tennis Championships, the theaters will be flooded with a wide range of Korean movies this month.

Based on a novel, the film "A Muse" is about a 70-year-old poet and his student both falling in love with a high school student named Eun-Gyo. The film portrays the jealousy of the two men, fighting for the Eun-Gyo's attention and love.

"A Muse" is already gaining lots of attention from the public, due to the shocking transformation of 30's actor Park Hae-il into a 70-year-old man.

Arirang

Actress Bae Doona and Ha Ji-won are getting together for the movie based on a true story during the 1991 World Table Tennis Championships. The film 'Korea' is based on the table tennis match between the two Koreas again ___________. Ha Ji-won plays the role of Hyun Jung-hwa, the South Korean table tennis player, and Bae Doona plays the role of Lee Bun-hee, who was the representative of North Korea.

Ha Ji-won, Hyun Jung-hwa role
[Interview : Ha Ji-won, Hyun Jung-hwa role] "Honestly, I have never thought deeply and was really never interested about inter-Korean relations. However, after I filmed this movie, my emotions changed. I hope that this movie can make younger age groups feel the way I felt as well".

The movie, that shows the close relationship between the two Koreans from either side of the border, is sure to get the audience to re-think about their opinions about the North and South reunifying in the future.

Arirang

The movie "A Muse" seems like a very controversial genre. A 70 year old poet falling in love with a high school student...I wonder how the story is going to play out.

[Reporter : ] I wonder the same thing as well...we'll have to see the movie to see how this love starts and progresses...all I can say is that this movie seems to be very different from the Korean movies we've seen in theaters recently.

We will be looking forward to the release of this movie, and also the movie 'Korea'...I'm sure this movie will make the audience very emotional and touched.

[Reporter : ] Yes definitely, I'm sure the two actresses will be able to rekindle the moment of victory in Japan and also the feeling the viewers felt as the "Arirang" was played when the two stepped up to obtain the gold medal..

I still remember that as well. I hope that moment will be portrayed as realistically as possible.

[Reporter : ] I definitely hope so as well. And now, I have more events for you all. Take a look at this.
