Bae Hospitalized due to Sepsis

Top hallyu star Bae Yong-joon was hospitalized due to sepsis last Thursday, according to the actor's agency BOF Entertainment.
"Bae received medical treatment as his blood sugar level and blood pressure suddenly dropped. According to medical examinations, he is in the early stage of blood poisoning, and his immunity system has weakened due to stress and overwork. He is currently resting after treatment", the agency said.
BOF added that Bae has been working hard on his new book "The Beauty of Korea" (working title) and thus lost a lot of weight for the past year.
The 37-year-old actor shed more than 10 kilograms during his travels around the country for his photo essay, which will be in bookstores Sept. 23.
Bae had been preparing for a press conference for his book on Sept. 22. He also has promotion plans for the animation version of his hit drama "Winter Sonata" and also his book in Tokyo, Japan on Sept. 29 and 30, respectively. His agency said that he will nevertheless go ahead with these schedules.
"We think he has been sensitive because of the big events ahead of him in Korea and Japan, plus he has been tired working on his book. We are a bit worried because the book event is a couple of days away, but we believe he will get better and leave the hospital by then", the agency said.
