"BUDi 2006" to Open Apr. 24

The "2006 Busan Universiade for Digital Contents" (BUDi 2006) will be held at the Concert Hall and Small Theater of Kyungsung University in Busan for three days beginning on Apr. 24. According to the organizing committee on Apr. 18, this annual international event will showcase all kinds of digital films produced by college students from around the world.

The second of its kind, this year's event is a film festival that will introduce digital films produced by college students around the world who are dreaming of becoming film directors in the future.

For this year's event, a total of 280 films from 13 countries were submitted to the organizing committee. They include fiction, documentaries, animations, and motion graphics. Among them, 76 films will be screened during the main events.

In addition to the films to be shown at the main events, the organizing committee will also screen for free a total of 102 digital films from 16 countries at four special shows: "Collection of Award-Winning Foreign Films", "Short Films from Portugal", "Short Films from Brazil", and "Classical Animations".
