"Dongmakgol" a Welcome Sight Local at Box Office

"Welcome to Dongmakgol", a film about Korean War soldiers who find spiritual connection in a rural village, took the top spot at the weekend box office.
The film was seen by 247,000 people in Seoul over Saturday and Sunday.
In the four days since its opening on Friday, "Dongmakgol" beat out last week's top film "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance", the final installment of Park Chan-wook's revenge trilogy. "Lady Vengeance" was seen by 158,000 moviegoers in Seoul during the weekend.
"The Island" the sci-fi thriller about cloning starring Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson came in third with 94,700 in Seoul. "Robots" and "Stealth" placed fourth and fifth with 26,787 and 22,661 respectively.
