[HanCinema's News] CGV Refunds Customers of Special "Lovely Runner" Screening Following Ticket Scalping Controversy

On May 23rd, CGV announced via social media announced that they would be issuing refunds for special theatrical screenings of "Lovely Runner" following a more intense than expected run on their website and app for early sales. CGV apologized for their managing of these sales, despite claiming to have prepared appropriately. However, CGV will only be offering automatic refunds for two tickets per individual sale, in recognition of the extent to which ticket speculation ruined the launch.

On May 22nd, I Park Mall CGV in the Yongsan District of Seoul announced that they would be screening the final episode of "Lovely Runner" live on the big screen. Additionally, actors Byeon Woo-seok, Kim Hye-yoon, Song Geon-hee, and Lee Seung-hyub among others were also set to attend this event. However, when CGV started to sell tickets to this event, their computer was infected by a virus, and within five minutes all one thousand seats for the event had already sold out.

Fans could attend this event for only a dollar. But soon after the sellout, scalped tickets for the event began to appear for sale online for as much as three hundred dollars, infuriating fans. Despite the setback, CGV promised to take appropriate response and restart ticket sales once these outstanding technical issues were fully accounted for, and thanked fans for their high interest in the event. "My Lovely Runner" will air its final episode on May 28th.
