Four Korean films selected for Fantasporto

Four Korean films have been selected to screen at the Oporto International Fantastic Film Festival in Portugal, more commonly known as Fantasporto. The festival's 28th edition will feature Park Ki-hyeong's "Acacia", Kim Jee-woon's "A Tale of Two Sisters", and Lee Jong-hyeok's "H" in its main competition section, as well as Baek Woon-hak's "Tube" in a special competitive section for new directors.

Fantasporto is one of the world's most widely-known "Fantastic" film festivals, devoted to genre cinema in general and horror/sci-fi in particular. This year's edition will be held from February 20-28.

In past years the festival has bestowed several awards on Korean cinema, including a Special Jury Prize for Kim Ki-duk's "The Isle" in 2000, a Best Actress award for Suh Jung ("The Isle"), as well as a Best Director (Yoon Jong-chan), Special Jury Prize and Best Actress (Jang Jin-yeong) award for "Sorum" in 2001. Last year's invitees included "2009 Lost Memories", "Volcano High", "Say Yes", and Elysium.
