Here is a look at the impressive nominees:

"A Taxi Driver" for the depiction of an almost unknown episode from the Gwangju Uprising, the entertainment it provides through a great combination of comedy and drama, for Song Kang-ho's performance, and finally, for featuring a western actor that can really act.

"Anarchist from Colony" for the very interesting main subject, the unusual but very entertaining style of narrative, the depiction of the era, and Lee Je-hoon, Choi Hee-seo, and Kim In-woo's acting.

"Merry Christmas Mr. Mo" for its directorial approach that lingers between Charlie Chaplin and Jim Jarmusch, for its slapstick humor, and for Ki Joo-bong's performance.

"Misbehavior" For the raw exploration of passion, insecurity, hierarchy, and destructive behavior that we see in ourselves as well as standout performances by Kim Ha-neul, Yoo In-young, and Lee Won-keun.

"Another Way" for an emotionally powerful exploration of a difficult subject and the wonderfully understated performances of Kim Jae-wook and Seo Yea-ji.

"The King" for being the best gangster film of the year, for its depiction of the connection between mob, politics, and press, and for Zo In-sung, Jung Woo-sung, Bae Sung-woo, and Ryu Jun-yeol's performances.

"The Battleship Island" for its subject matter, its clear and effective role as a crowd-pleaser, and its ability to create palpable emotion.

"The Villainess" for it's intense opening sequence, well-choreographed and shot action scenes, and the ability to provoke gut-wrenching emotion.

"Moon Young" for being a surprisingly optimistic piece despite many cynical moments about a young woman awakening to her true identity.

"The Swindlers" for intense mystery, gritty character development, and dizzying plot twists.
