Here's a delightful dish straight from Korea's royal courts: Gungjung Tteokbokki. This meal is from the Joseon dynasty where is was prepared as a snack for royalty. "The dish typically includes white rice cakes, some meat (mostly beef) and various colourful vegetables. So it looks and tastes more luxurious than typical Tteokbokki".

"South Korea tackles baffling menu translations"

It's somewhat of a joke for English-speaking foreigners when they find a strangely worded food item on a menu overseas, but the South Korean government is trying to ensure that Korea is not one of those countries. The government has set up a special task force to rid menus of "confusing or embarrassing translations of Korean dishes". No more "dynamic stew", "six times", or any other bizarre translation to baffling outsiders.
