Enjoy some rare images of Korea under Japanese occupation. According to the Korea Times, these rare slides (which are in mint condition) were discovered by a Korean historian who came across them at an American auction. The collection includes 35 color slides that were later confirmed to be from 1946-47 of people from Seoul, Chuncheon, Gangneung, Incheon and Seoul. What a great little time capsule.

Hyunwoo Kim, a 25-year old from South Korea, was one of eight finalists selected for the annual Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival taking place in August in France. The event gives up-and-coming fashion designers a chance to develop their skills and showcase their wares in one of the most fashion-conscious countries in the world. Kim has a unisex collection of items that were inspired by "The Little Shop of Horrors", a 1960s classic cult-film by Roger Corman.

"South Korea ministry apologises over artists' blacklist"

South Korea's cultural ministry has official apologised for blacklisting thousands of artists for political reasons: "We feel terrible and shameful that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism caused any problems in the fairness of the government's support of the culture-arts scene over the list of artists excluded from public support", said the ministry's Vice Culture Minister, Song Soo-keun. Among those blacklisted was the award-winning novelist Han Kang whose novel, "Vegetarian", won the International Man Booker prize last year.
