"Soyoun Kim proposes using architecture to promote peace between North and South Korea"

Soyoun Kim has an unusual and creative idea to promote better relations between North and South Koreans. His innovation involves marking out a space -"the most neutral place in the world", the Blue Neutralised Zone (BNZ) - between the two countries and creating a series of monuments and buildings "where citizens from both sides of the border could meet and communicate". The BNZ would include a swimming pool, a lecture hall, a playground, shared monuments, a mall, and other spaces designed to engage citizens. Kim: "I am an optimistic person, and this is an optimistic future scenario".

"Young artists lower bars for art buying"

How much would you pay for art without knowing the name of the artist? That's exactly what the Blind Date art fair in Seoul, where only after your purchase can you get the information about the creative mind behind your pick. 200 pieces by 78 artists were on display and prices ranged from 100,000 won up to 1.5 million won. "It's also fun that I can appreciate paintings based on my own judgment and feelings with no additional information", said Kim, a housewife who recently visited the fair.

The competition asked designers, "to create a new memorial and monumental park in the city of Samcheok, South Korea, that would tell the story of the voyage undertaken by legendary general Yisabu to the islands of Usanguk and Dokdo in 512 A.D".
