"Step inside Asif Khan's dark pavilion for the Winter Olympics"

The new Olympic pavilion in PyeongChang is special: made from light-absorbing Vantablack VBx2 technology, the new building is the darkest structure humans have ever assembled. The new pavilion's unique feature is the result of Asif Khan, a British-based architect who has been working with the material for a number of years now. "[I]ts matt black material is able to absorb 99 per cent of the light that hits its surface, appearing almost as a black void, even in broad daylight". "US photographer finds new home and new passion in Korea"

John Steele came to Korea back in 2002 to teach English in Seoul, but his real passion is photography. With his 8-year-old Boston Terrier, " Holly " (who has become somewhat of a star herself: "She's pretty famous in Korea"), John has travelled all around the country snapping up Korea's beautiful natural sights. "I got addicted seeing beautiful landscapes", said John in this interview on WTHR, but he also loves capturing complex city scenes. It is, as writer Scott Swan describes it, "a relationship born in Korea and bonded with a camera".

What does the average South Korean think about North Korea? In this photo gallery on BuzzFeed, Matt Stopera and Lauren Yapalater have compiled the opinions of 24 South Koreans who were asked to write down what they thought of their northern neighbours. Some of the responses include, "North Korea, who are you guys? Can we be friends?", "We were one. Now we are two", and "Although it seems dangerous right now, I think there will be reunification one day. Go team Korea!"
