Actor Choi Sung-won was recently confirmed to appear in the upcoming magical mystery drama "From Now On, Showtime!" which will be airing this March on MBC. Though this will only be a special appearance, it still marks the return of Choi Sung-won to acting following a bout with leukemia. Choi Sung-won was diagnosed with the disease while filming "Mirror of the Witch" in 2016. He was declared cured in December of that year, and started working again in February of 2020.

But a recurrence of the disease forced Choi Sung-won away from work again in 2020. After receiving a bone marrow transplant this winter, Choi Sung-won is again cleared to work. Choi Sung-won is perhaps best known for his role in "Reply 1988" where he played the younger brother of the lead character played by Lee Hyeri in the nostalgia centered drama. "Prison Playbook" and "Absolute Boyfriend" are among his other notable credits.
